“shilly, I ‘m having people over for dinner on Saturday…on the PARLOUR level.”
Is that an invite? I’ll bring the bubble bath.
Dave–the original You go Girl is Mr B’s commentary in the post.

Were some posts removed??? I don’t see the original “You go girl.”
11217 – you seem to be the grouch on this thread. I too wonder at the dizzyingly high prices of housing in my community. I enjoy Brooklyn for the opportunity it has given me (a public interest lawyer whose income has only once topped 6 digits) to buy and renovate a home near other interesting people, oddball restaurants, and cultural venues. When all the housing stock is priced so high, it means that I will be soon be surrounded by those who can afford those prices – which means people whose life choices (corporate lawyering, banking etc) are not ones which really interest me. Yes, this is my own kind of wish to see those similar to myself in my neighborhood. I enjoy that my son lives in an economically and racially diverse area, attends school where others don’t all come from the same background. That is a reason why I wouldn’t want to live in Park Slope or send him to PS 321.
So no, sky high prices aren’t really all that appealing to me. Rather than indicating that the “market works” it indicates to me that the city continues its slide into an economic exclusion zone. We obviously aren’t going to agree on this one.
I would just like a little nod at integrity and balance, that’s all. Something like “Much better than last week’s!” would have still been pro-market and pro-realtor, but a lot less rip-off-your-top-and-shake-your-boobies than “you go, girl!” (By the way, last week Mr B’s comment was “Comment: Not a lot of traction.” Is that your idea of “showing up? Hmmm…)
3 out of 4, bullish.
no need to fret about the high prices. nothing wrong with renting. rent where you like and can afford and enjoy the hood. ownership is a not a pre-requisite or requirement to enjoying the hood
“Can you say “slut”?”
It’s called running a business.
One which you take part in by commenting here.
You’re right thought. Since this is Mr. B’s blog and since he lives in Brooklyn, it would have made much more sense to have said…”this sucks” instead of “you go girl” which was obviously trying to add a little humor into a thread which shows up every week.
Welcome back though. Your negativity was surely missed.
Oh gee, those weren’t your words after all 11217. They were too intelligent! Should have known…
