I’m not sure I’m loving the two-tone cabinetry in the Kenmore House…. I think I would have preferred the blue as a paint color on the walls somewhere. I like the color, but the two different cabinet colors are a little jarring to my eye… Would not be a deal breaker, though. Just saying. Like the backsplash and the ceiling…
streber: Doesn’t look like realtor is the one using Wallabout. Listing on their site clealy says Ft. Greene.
But don’t get too worked up over that kinda thing.
I think Walt Whitman wrote a bit about Wallabout. The New Yorker said that he grew up on Ryerson St. His mother was a property developer in the neighborhood.
“Wallabout” is realtor marketing baloney.
Sure, I know, “Wallabout Bay” and “Wallabout Market”, but that was much further east than this house, and using ‘Wallabout’ as a moniker for this neighborhood has only occurred in the last few years (unless you go way back). This is fort greene, although most neighborhood maps put the border of fort greene at Park Ave, and this house is on the other side.
They say ‘Wallabout’ because they don’t want you to think “Across from the Walt Whitman houses”, or “under the BQE”.
Ah, so it is the old Corcoran listing. It’s right across the street from Fulton Park then.
South slope house has been on the market for about a month already, so not exactly going fast. No contract noted on the website (betancourt is pretty good at noting in contract properties).
Found this on streeteasy for the Stuyvesant House. I thought I’d seen the interiors somewhere. Was listed with Corcoran.
