  1. “If you haven’t figured it out by now, 11217 is either a real estate broker (Ideal Properties, maybe?) or bought an apartment in Park Slope in the first half of 2008.”

Snark knows (as pretty much anyone with a brain would know from reading this blog) that I’m neither a broker nor did I purchase my apartment that recently.

  2. The first photo on that one looks great. Nice detail in the front parlor as you said, and high ceiling. The bathroom is fugly, the kitchen is done on the cheap.

Maybe that is the going rate at that location. I wonder what the cross street is.

  3. Why is that Santa? Many professional people who lead busy lives and those moving from out of state want someone to assist in the process, and the last few times I’ve helped friends move here (with a broker) the landlord has paid the fee. How is that idiotic?

Craigslist is for college students, people making 30K a year and those looking for a roommate. You’d be surprised how many people use a broker because they are busy and don’t have time to be trolling though fake ad after fake ad. Just saw a studio listed on craigslist: $950 PARK SLOPE! Great deal, right?

    Then is says 3rd Avenue.

  4. “only idiots and rich people go to brokers”

Cheaper than overpaying to “own”. Penny wise, pound foolish. Craigslist is a haystack and will get you killed!

  5. “I’ve noticed rents creeping back up in Park Slope.”

I’ve noticed renting-out difficulties creeping up in the forum (accross the board – that includes Park Slope). Check out the one today – landlord worried about broken lease.

“also most of those window ads are for bullshitters.”

Exactamundo! That’s why they’re still available!

  6. Snark,

If you haven’t figured it out by now, 11217 is either a real estate broker (Ideal Properties, maybe?) or bought an apartment in Park Slope in the first half of 2008. That apartment looks gorgeous through his rose colored glasses.
