  1. No, of course some people do, Nomi. I was exaggerating of course.

But I doubt that Diane H. Steinberg (Brooklyn Museum board member and patron of the arts) who bought the Grace Court Alley home put in her bid on the widget.

    I could be wrong. 🙂

  2. Yes, Miss Muffet is morose.

It will be thrilling if she buys a house, though. She IS looking. I’m not sure that NO one who posts on here ever buys a house .. . another M, mopar, did. And I’m sure others have. I don’t know most of you.

  3. Nomi, I really don’t mind Miss Muffet. It’s more of a joke. But when she comes on here with such authority about her ideas on pricing (and is proven wrong nearly every time) it just starts to become funny.

I mean, HOW many houses will she come here to rip to shreds to tell us it’s worth hundreds of thousands less and then be proven wrong once it sells? You’d think that someone who has seen (and apparently passed up) as many houses as she has would have some idea that you can’t talk down the market. As much as she wants that to be true.

I really don’t care though. Appraise away. I’ve always been a firm believer that people who *really* buy these houses don’t read or post on Brownstoner anyway.

  4. “So Grace Court Alley went for less than the widget consensus? This must be a first.”

Oh, wow, yes. I’m glad they sold though. The stables are wonderful, but that upstairs is pretty .. . . higgledy piggledy. That’s how you spell that, right?
