Anyone know if the Griffin unit is the corner ground floor unit at Lafayette & So. Oxford? Because if it is, this price is even more out of hand.
Ground floor, active street, bus stop out front. Nice.
Agree with 10:03 – Middle class in NYC, even Brooklyn, is very different than other parts of the country.
College grads typically make 50-60K right out of school, so for a couple they are already at $100k+ in their early 20’s. Add wage growth, bonus, raises, etc. and they can easily afford these types of condos by mid to late 20’s. Granted this is not everyone in NY, but it is true for many many people (More than alot on these boards would care to accept).
5:07 a couple each making whatever but probab ly close to 200K a year can afford them. people right our of law school or MBA and still in their 20’s…
I’m curious, I don’t live in Brooklyn, but these condos seem rather high in price for Brooklyn. Can people actually afford them? If they continue building such high priced condos, where are all the people who can’t afford them gonna go?
The common areas of the Griffin are naaaasty. Apartments are nice. Maintenance is way too high.
RUUUUDoolfo Luchaaaaayseeeee
We looked at a similar apartment in the griffin last weekend. Actually quite lovely and listed at 599k. Maintenance seemed high though at 919/month.
I’m quite shocked about the Griffin price also, to be honest.
Great location, but kinda shabby building interior.
Needs some updating (which I know they’ve been doing) but I looked at an apt. there a year ago and I don’t think it warranted anywhere near this price.
maybe 450K.
This must have been something special.
Gold encrusted bathroom?
$725/sf in the Griffin?
I am so selling my place. Mr. B, get ready for a coop of the day about 8 months from now…
