One of Brooklyn’s most appealing buildings, the over-the-top mansion at 405 Clinton Avenue with a great renovation, is for sale. It has a long history of distinguished owners: It was designed by William Tubby for Brooklyn’s second-to-last mayor, Charles A. Schieren, and was supposedly also home to New York mayor Jimmy Walker. The sellers are writers Sean Wilsey and Daphne Beale, who did the renovation.

The interiors look the same but a little more polished than when it was Building of the Day back in 2012. It last traded for $1,750,000 back in 2009, but it was a wreck. Now the ask is $9,875,000. That’s quite an increase in price. Think they’ll get it?

  1. For such a large house with no parking, I can’t imagine who the buyer may be at even half the price.
Such a large house would probably be for a large family that lives & works from home, they need parking!
The new listing at 86 Cambridge would be a better bet and have plenty of money left over to make it to your requirements.
