Here’s an interesting option for someone who loves old houses to pick one up on the cheap. This brownstone at 409 Quincy Street in Bed Stuy has lots of original details in place. It’ll definitely require some work but the asking price is starting out at $515,000 and the listing trumpets the fact that the seller, if not desperate, at least highly-motivated. At three stories tall and 17.5 feet wide, it’s not a huge house but at the right price could be worth it.

  1. Ask anyone who lives there where the Stuy Heights historic district is. Trouble with people who rely on cut and paste from the internet is they usually look like fools in reality.

The Stuy heights Hist District is not all of that. Go play somewhere else now.

  2. It seems as though agents & prospective buyers in Brooklyn are quite timid at gauging negotiations either for rent or sale. As Gemini 10 noted it should probably be around 499k to get more foot traffic… It’s not like we are talking a 50 to 100k difference it’s a mere 16k off from the asking price?? I noticed that in Manhattan agents & buyers will gauge no matter the asking price, the two responses you can get are: Not interested or a counter offer. Agents and buyers be savvy not “scared / timid”. Properties may be priced to sell or rent but – not a fire sale. There are a lot of good deals out there make yourselves available!

  3. Hay asstringer. You clearly don’t evne know where Stuy heights is from your earlier post so when you’re clueless about something it’s best not to further open your mouth and look more like a complete imbecile.

You wrote “This sub hood is called Stuyvesant Heights going from Flushing to Fulton ( North to South) & Tompkins to Ralph ( West to East).”

Hardly, you’ve really got no clue whatsoever.

  4. All right! I feel like i need to speak up for Dave. He’s so good to critic HOTD’s in other nabs but is almost speechless when there’s one is his hood!
1st let’s agree for the most part that Bed Stuy is a shitty and dodgy neighborhood with a high level of homicides by fire arm!
Please type in any address of your choice to verify there:

Now, despite being a High crime zone, there are a few streets that are more visually appealing to the eyes because of an highest number of brownstone. This sub hood is called Stuyvesant Heights going from Flushing to Fulton ( North to South) & Tompkins to Ralph ( West to East).
According to Dave, houses in this section of Bed Stuy command $1M or more….
Well dear window shoppers, Dave is wrong again…He’s just living in a fantasy world!
If you want to check how much houses are selling for, go check this guy’s listing, most of his renovated Brownstones, single & multi family homes are for sale at less than $600K:

While you may not like the way he renovated, at least they are ready to move in and on some houses, he offers buyer the choice of appliances.
Oh! And yes Dave there are some at that price close enough to where you live…
