Given the massive size of this brownstone at 109 MacDonough Street in Bed Stuy, we wish there were a few more photos to look at. Still, other than some kitchen cabinets that don’t float our boat, this five-story, 6,000-square-foot building looks pretty impressive. Taking off our preservationist cap and putting on our developer one, we’d say this place looks like it could be an interesting conversion opportunity given the large floor plates and horse-walk along the side of the house. At $945,000, the asking price comes out to less than $160 a foot. What would these sell for as condos?

  1. Beautiful details! Would installing windows along the alley wall be permitted? I think the kitchen cabinets are perfectly fine. Not crazy about the countertops, but that’s a fairly easy fix.

  2. This Stuyvesant Heights house was designed for the developers mother in 1890 by Amzi Hill. MM along with our tour group stopped in yesterday the house has great bones but needs a lot of work…

  3. Much better job than the last listing, which candidly admitted 5 units, 5 kitchens and 5 renters in a 3-unit townhouse. Oops!
The pictures look lovely, and the words gently gloss over the amount of work needed. I think it’s still a bit pricy even for a developer.
