Given the massive size of this brownstone at 109 MacDonough Street in Bed Stuy, we wish there were a few more photos to look at. Still, other than some kitchen cabinets that don’t float our boat, this five-story, 6,000-square-foot building looks pretty impressive. Taking off our preservationist cap and putting on our developer one, we’d say this place looks like it could be an interesting conversion opportunity given the large floor plates and horse-walk along the side of the house. At $945,000, the asking price comes out to less than $160 a foot. What would these sell for as condos?

  1. mopar, (388 stuy) currently seemed used as rentals on top floors and duplex on garden/parlor. You can see in pics that a wall/doorway built right up against staircase to partition out the lower duplex from main hallway. Since such a beautiful staircase thought seemed a shame not incorporated into the living space.

  2. ooooooh. I like it. It’s certainly much nicer than the places I’ve been visiting lately – particularly the “recently renovated” brownstone where reno = painting over peeling paint.

  3. wouldn’t say nice than the pics(388 stuy)…but ideal would be to use whole house a single family. Shame is the staircase should be open to really show it off and be part of the home. Closed off and detracts from the drama.
Upstairs seemed to not is great condition.
