House of the Day: 627 3rd Street
Holy double-parlor, Batman! This new limestone listing at 627 3rd Street is sure to get some real estate envy stirred up. The one-family house has oodles of wood paneling and has been on the receiving end of a major updating, including new kitchen, full-on HVAC and restored exteriors. Of course, all this Park Slope-y goodness…

Of course, all this Park Slope-y goodness doesn’t come cheap: The asking price is $3,595,000. The first open house takes place this Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Also, to renew the discussion from yesterday about public transport–this location not so great from that standpoint. And I know everyone will say “somebody buying a 3 million dollar house won’t take the subway” but there is no parking around there either.
If this house doesn’t bring back 11217, I don’t know what will.
photoshopping all the shadows out of these pictures makes this place look a little odd.. like all that furniture has been pasted into the picture.
Looks like a Axel Hedman really nice home…
Call it blasphemy if you will, DIBS! I know you like the traditional look. Note that I said “somewhat” more modern furniture. Actually, these particular houses are perfectly suited to Mission-style furniture (if you can stand more wood!).
Got two words for the interior of this place: fuddy and duddy. So not my style but I am sure someone will find it gorgeous.
Yesterday’s HOTD was located on one of the less charming streets of the slope.
Today’s HOTD is located on one of the most magnificent streets of the slope.
This block is a breathtakinly beautiful!
(What a difference an extra $2M makes!)
Do you think that the buyer of this home would somehow be able to internalize the magnificence and beauty of this block? Would the buyer become a more beautiful person by living here?
I love all the wood, and I’d just lighten it up with somewhat more modern furniture.

Blasphemy.
Also, similar UES houses run 6-10 times this price!!!!!!!
This might be an outlier in the prettiness category.
