Holy double-parlor, Batman! This new limestone listing at 627 3rd Street is sure to get some real estate envy stirred up. The one-family house has oodles of wood paneling and has been on the receiving end of a major updating, including new kitchen, full-on HVAC and restored exteriors. Of course, all this Park Slope-y goodness doesn’t come cheap: The asking price is $3,595,000. The first open house takes place this Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.

  1. “Not my cup of tea, lil too stuffy.”

That was my first thought, too, but I think this is one of those places where you really have to look beyond the owners’ decorating choices (too much pattern in the furniture!). Personally, I love all the wood, and I’d just lighten it up with somewhat more modern furniture.

This house compares favorably in quality to similar townhouses on the Upper East Side that sell for double or triple this price. Granted, not everyone who likes the Upper East Side would want to live in Brooklyn, but I think this is an incredible house.

  2. who the helll lives like this?? that furniture, the weird colors on the walls. i mean there seems to be about 15 different sitting areas? i just dont get it.

  3. Does any miss this pocket doors between the front parlor/center parlor and the ones that should close off the hallway. These must have been removed at some point. BTW- this house is just my style, just about $3 mil off my price range. Contributions being accepted.

  4. Outlier?

I think that’s what you call all of Last Weeks Biggest Sales, every week.

  5. It has a sort of institutional air, which is good because someone who sepnds 3.5 million on a house like this in Brooklyn should be institutionalized.
