A housekeeper might be in tall order, but the old bones of this house at 87 Macon Street in Bed Stuy are pretty sweet if you can look past the clutter. The painted brownstone is divided up into a double-duplex configuration and has a two-story extension off the rear. It was originally listed back in November at $849,000 but recently was reduced to $750,000. Getting warm or a ways to go?

Is there a site that tells you how long this house has been on the market?
LOOOVE that built in in the ‘bedroom’! That room is crying to be MY dining room.
Hey, I know that house! It’s right near me. Nice details. Yeah, it needs work, but looks worth it. Would you prefer an already renovated house where you don’t know what lies beneath?
Takes about a minute to get to the train from here. Sweet.
Plus, I’d be your neighbor! What more could you ask for?
I gotta say, compared to BHS, Corcoran and ALL the others, this Fillmore listing is about the best I’ve ever seen. It’s got all the “numbers,” a thorough description, lots of pics, a floorplan and a virtual tour.
Kudos to them and this broker.
With all that going on shouldn’t the house be listed at “price negotiable”? I’m new to all this, but structural problems can be a nightmare to fix from my experience with renos in California, so I couldn’t imagine what it would be like on a very old attached home.
DOB BIS: yikes!
I went to BIS to check C of O…None.
However…..
FIRE DAMAGE TO ROOF&CORNICE WATER DAMAGE TO ENTIRE ROOFJOISTS, SHEATHING 3RD FLOOR CEILING&EAST PORTION OF THE BUILDING
Category Code: 30 BUILDING SHAKING/VIBRATING/STRUCT STABILITY AFFECTED
This was in 2004.
hmm, fretwork nice. looks like there are some massive and cool built-ins in the bedroom shown in the 360 tour. The rigged-up extension cords aren’t a good sign though. Old electrical! though of course that should be expected.
Rumor has it that the back room and kitchen of this house have serious damage to the joists…a 2-3 inch drop from one side to the other. Also note that the cornice is no longer there – fire damage. It obviously has some incredible detail, but it all comes with some risk…
hhhmmm, this is worrisome.
