This free-standing woodframe house at 115 Fenimore Street in Prospect Lefferts Gardens was scheduled to auctioned out of foreclosure today based on an outstanding lien of just $26,051. We’ve got no idea what kind of shape the interior is in but it’s clearly a charmer on the outside and sits on a large 60-by-100-foot lot. What do you think this place is worth? Update: We got an email from the owner saying that the auction is over. No word on price yet.Scratch that…turns out that the motion was vacated. No sale.

  1. Not all that much about this specific house dittoburg, although I guess I could regurgitate something from the LPC’s historic district designation report, if needed. It’s a nice block and I agree that it’s a shame that anyone could loose their house over such a small amount.

  2. From propertyshark, there have been a lot of bizarre transactions beginning in 2003. The current owner looks to have taken posession in 2006 but maybe he never actually paid the taxes due.

A clear title is of the utmost importance with this one!!!

  3. That house is in the PLG historic district s no Fedders, happily. Anyone who wants to fix it up will need LPC approval.

How can a house be foreclosed for $26,000? Seems insane to me that someone couldn’t somehow come up with that versus losing a place worth at least 25x that much.

  4. Axctually i didn’t notice that you posted that Joe. i thought it was BHO’s usual shtick with the math gone awry!!!!
