We might as well start the year out with a bang…This four-story brownstone at 14 Garden Place in Brooklyn Heights is pretty spectacular. In fact, it looks about perfect. Beaucoup fireplaces and moldings, tasteful built-ins, high ceilings, updated kitchen, attractive backyard. Of course, the owners know what they’ve got and, at $4,700,000 (or $1,175 per square foot) have priced it accordingly high. It’s been on the market for more than two months now with no takers. Think that’ll change once the bonus money starts clearing?

  1. The treads and risers are definitely painted white. I suspect that there’s also a white runner as well. That must be part of the destription of “European flair.” 🙁

  2. Gotta agree on the kitchen tile, too, but that’s really nothing in the large scheme of things. Shouldn’t affect either the price, or someone’s desire for the house.

  3. I think for the price, it lacks a few things, some of which have already been pointed out:

    1. A large master bathroom, ensuite or not.
    2. Large master closets
    3. A small deck off the parlour level.

  4. “The furniture can go though.”

agree, except for the velvet sofa. Actually, they should throw that red sofa out next garbage day. When’s garbage day in the heights? I’ll be there 😉
