House of the Day: 220 Seeley Street
This cute one-family at 220 Seeley Street just hit the market with a price tag of $1,250,000. It’s got some very nice original details (parquet floors, beamed ceilings) and that holy grail of New York real estate, its own driveway. “Not true at all. The vast majority of brownstone owners that I know in Park Slope (and elsewehere) have cars. We use them to leave the city most weekends, go on major shopping outings, get into the city quickly, and to take the kids to soccer and other activities. I do agree that driveways are an abomination. Walking a few blocks to the garage is not such a big deal.”
this would be in the dictionary next to “Soccermomification of Brownstone Brooklyn”
“The vast majority of brownstone brooklynites don’t have cars.”

WT prices are very strange to me.
In kensington this house would be 700k, and it’s 2 blocks away with better train service and a better neighborhood.
At least the broker had wonderful sunlight on the day of the photoshoot!
Speaking of the 150-foot lot, looking at Google Maps, it seems that the lot adjoins a deep 10-story apt building. This would cast a cloud – both literally and figuratively – over the 150-foot lot.
What’s the zoning here? Can I build a 12 story 17′ x 150′ sliver condo? That seems the only possible justification for the price.
I can’t believe a house like that is over 1M.
Kinda sad, if you really think about what you’re getting for the price.
Property Shark, too, says the lot is 150 feet deep.
Yes, DeLepp, the buyer could start a farm!
But why are there not photos or emphasis of the depth of the lot?
The broker’s website says:
“Lot dimensions – 17 ft x 150 ft”
Is this accurate?
150 feet?
