This single-family house at 657 East 24th Street in Midwood has a nice feel to it—and it’s hard not to covet the two-car garage. The six-bedroom pad traded for $625,000 back in ’07 and is now on the market with a price tag of $925,000. Any bets on whether this price flies? Seems like it might be a little high.

  1. I’m back! Couldn’t see inside but it looks like it could be empty.

The house actually looks pretty nice with roof and siding in decent condition (and the garage exterior looks pretty good as well).

I guess the updating refers to the kitchen and bathrooms? The pictures show rooms in decent condition but looking a little dated (light fixtures, etc).

The block itself is okay – quiet and tree-lined. Some houses look well maintained but others could do with some sprucing up.

If the sellers are reading, I’ll bid 624k.

  2. cwb, that’s funny. My first drums, which I bought secondhand from a friend, was a Pearl Export kit – standard five piece. I upgraded the snare and cymbals over time. The range of sounds and effects electronic drums offer is incredible, and the higher end snares and toms make the feel realistic. But still nothing like a traditional kit. Ok, apologies all…back to the house.

  3. Biff – I play them, but not well. Other instruments I play poorly include the guitar and the bass. 🙂

I’ve thought about electric drums, but right now we’ve no space to put them. If we ever find a bigger place where they might reasonably fit, I’d definitely look into them. The full kit – just a perl export, nothing special – is in storage upstate until I own something where I can finish and soundproof a room in the basement, or a garage.
