We’re in love with the bayfront brownstone at 448 6th Street that just hit the market. It feels historically authentic but not precious, and it’s a little different from your standard-issue brownstone. The asking price is $2,825,000. Given the current meltdown and the fact that the house is only 17 feet wide, that’s going to be tough, but, man, whoever ends up here is a lucky duck.

  1. Corcoran had one on this very block for about 2.6 – I think the listing went away, since I never saw it go from “for sale” to “in contract” – maybe the owners took it off market?

  2. With regard to your “can’t we all just get along?”, Biff We apparently cannot. This wasn’t a “fight” or a momentary inability to get along. It also didn’t feel like an issue over who was right or wrong. It felt really personal. I am miffed/biffed by the attack and I’m genuinely perplexed and hurt by it. I hate feeling like a junior high kid again! Especially because no one called him on it – the unprovoked name calling and dismissive tude.

Hope I get to meet you on Thursday 11217. What fun.

  3. 11217 – this place is priced as if things were still on the upswing, which they most certainly are not. I’ve seen 20′ wide 4-story homes on this block in as if not nicer condition asking less this past spring. If they get their price, or even a “mere” few 100K less, more power to them, but I would be very, very surprised.
