I’ve looked back at the posts, it was a race-baiting anti-white article. I don’t see how you can claim to be “not even remotely racist”, whether its your race or not. Apology retracted, keep your hateful posts to yourself.
I did not mean it to be nasty. I just think it’s important to say now since some of you will be meeting in person. There have been plenty of sickos who were cordial at first and still had ulterior motives. I’m not saying you are a sicko, but clearly this person I know got a weird vibe.
If someone felt uncomfortable enough to stop the exchange and not continue posting, I think it should be brought to the forefront and not swept under a rug.
This was said in a group of people at dinner in a conversation about Brooklyn, Brownstoner, etc. and there were other readers who also had pointed out to erratic and sometimes inappropriate comments by you, Biff. “Jerri” also showed us some of these said emails and quite frankly, I would have been uncomfortable with some of them too. Not only the content, but the sheer quantity and determination of the emails, even after “Jerri” stopped responding.
I would ever have mentioned it, except I did want to get it off my chest, knowing that some of you will be meeting. I was feeling guilty and while it might be nothing, sometimes when you have a hunch, it feels right to go with it.
11217, I’m not sure why you suddenly seem to be so down on the site or have such a problem with me, especially since I’ve been nothing but cordial with you. Not that I feel the need to explain this, but since you’ve thrown out pretty severe accusations, it was never a secret that I posted an email ID for jerri, which anyone on the site could have seen. Everything we discussed was lighthearted and there was no hint of anyone being “very uncomfortable” and it was indeed harmless fun. On the contrary, jerri always appeared to enjoy the exchanges, including those with DIBS et.al. I’m really sorry if he was truly uncomfortable and we scared him away from this site. (And no, I didn’t operate and ultimately destroy the mailufo website!! I wish I was that technically savvy)
Anyway, I hardly think it makes sense that I would be organizing a get together for other ‘Stoners if I had “ulterior motives” or was trying to mask my identity. I’ve met other posters on here previously whom I consider friends (Dave, Montrose, MacD, bxgrl, etc.) and they’ve somehow survived and remained friend. I think your post was unfair and unnecessarily nasty.
