11217, it’s hard to imagine one would get defensive after you’ve painted them as a potential Jack the Ripper! And I’m not sure why you consider the fact I’m friends with Nokilissa to not bode well. Anyway, you probably are a very decent human being who is just being cautious. And I don’t think you were trying to be malicious. I’m just glad the majority of people here are willing and looking forward to getting together on Thursday, including the Brownstoner staff.

I was not the “faded type guest” you refer to, but I’m guessing that it might have been “Jerri.” As I mentioned, there were a few other people at that dinner who all heard the story as well, and it could have been any of them.
I have no reason to say all of this and only brought it up because some of you are meeting.
Your defensive tone and for some reason using Nokilissa in your camp (not a very credible source, as I’ve already mentioned) does not really bode well. To compare my interactions with her today to yours I’ve just described above hardly seem similar.
While you can say what you want and end our online cordial interaction, I’d rather lose your support than have someone end up in trouble and know that I could have said something.

I’m assuming you’re the faded type guest who continued to threaten me before the mandatory logins and who couldn’t shame me when I called you out. Of course I found it odd jerri disappeared suddenly after no hint of being upset, so I was trying to figure out if everything was ok. You have your opinions and clearly they won’t change. As I said way up above, you are totally off base with your perception of Nokilissa, who I’m sure I know much more than you do, so I’m not surprised your “hunch” concerning me is equally as off the wall.

I am, however able to see the flip side of things and understand that some people (especially ones that have a past of being enslaved by white people) do sometimes have to live with a double standard when compared to their relatively racist free counterparts.
