House of the Day: 179 Adelphi Street
$1,650,000 isn’t a very high price for a four-story house in Fort Greene, so we’re not particularly optimistic about what this four-family at 179 Adelphi Street must look like on the inside. (The lack of photos ain’t helping either.) The listing does cite the existence of original details though, so maybe it’s not so bad….

179 Adelphi Street [Century 21] GMAP P*Shark
The century 21 people with the Iranian names are house flippers. they buy out the old folks and up the price without doing one penny of renovation. Any comments?
depends on how much you put down, 5:50.
if you read all the posts, it sounds like they made a buttload on a previous manhattan sale…
we put down over a million on our place. left us with a very small mortgage payment.
Going to 1:41s original post – wouldnt you say that 1.6M is too high even for someone earning around $350K?
My aunt just bought a home in Omaha, Nebraska for 330 something. Very modest house with 3 bedrooms.
That doesn’t say much for the fact that you are saying that prices are cheaper in one of the major East Coast cities…(Philly).
Yikes…
I think even Baltimore has higher prices than Philly these days.
i like reading about how people in philly think 200K is a lot of money for a house in 2008. it’s cute.
I guess you’ve never heard the saying “You get what you pay for…”
well 3:26.i just like reading about how much u dumb new yorkers pay for houses.i could buy an apartment building in philly, for the same price as u pay for a studio.
And therin lies the opportunity 3:26
390 murders for 1 million people = philly
500 murders for 8 million people = nyc
