House of the Day: 237 Wyckoff Street
This single-family house at 237 Wyckoff Street in Boerum Hill is extremely charming. There’s lots of original detail and the three-story house was the recipient of a tasteful renovation in the recent past. Even the price ($1,495,000) on its surface doesn’t sound too bad. This single-family house at 237 Wyckoff Street in Boerum Hill is extremely charming. There’s lots of original detail and the three-story house was the recipient of a tasteful renovation in the recent past. Even the price ($1,495,000) on its surface doesn’t sound too bad. Of course, the elephant in the room is the property’s proximity to the Gowanus Houses, the public housing complex down on the corner. This particular block of Wyckoff, though, is quite nice, with well-kept facades and lots of nice trees, so maybe it won’t be that big a deal.

Have their been any reported burglaries, assaults, etc on this block? Considering the other virtues of this location, this looks like a bargain.
Kitchen needs to be replaced, but if you can’t spring for a new kitchen, don’t buy a $1.5 Million dollar home.
NYGuy, I meant I like the living room, dining room and kitchen on one floor.
For me, it would be hard to entertain when they’re split.
While no one’s gonna buy the house because of the kitchen, I kinda like the simplicity of it. Overall the whole place is very charming. IMO, having the family room on the ground floor with the kitchen and dining rm addresses any concerns about splitting up the reception rooms. However I’m guessing that on closer inspection this house will be revealed to need some TLC. Note the peeling dining room ceiling, the badly scuffed bedroom floor (and holes in the DR and front parlor floors), also the always-suspicious lack of bathroom photos.
hey, lets all play the game: “let’s pretend living next to the projects is cool!!”
wycoff houses are ghetto. deal breaker.
I actually like this little house
the LR is flooded in sunlight and looks very cute esp with those built-ins
I don’t think the kitchen is that bad
also that backyard looks really nice with the Dogwood or cherry blossom in it!
“dining room and kitcehn are split on two different floors.”
They’re both on the same floor, the garden floor.
The kitchen is dated but it’s a nice little house. Pretty bright inside too. The location though is actually great. I lived around the corner and never had any trouble and you’re less than a 10 minute to almost every train that runs through Brooklyn.
Hate when people put a bedroom on the parlor/first floor and the living room and dining room and kitcehn are split on two different floors.
