House of the Day: Somewhere in Prospect Heights
This Prospect Heights brownstone is quite a looker, with lots of wood detail and an unusual bowed front and mansard roof. We haven’t seen a lot of deals close in the neighborhood since the market started slowing so we’re really not sure how close to the mark this $1.7 million asking price is. What do…

Is it possible that there are people out there who think proximity to new development and its amenities just might be a good thing for property values?
folks its overpriced get real
I cannot wait for the Nets stadium!
Thank god for Ratner! Brooklyn finally get its well-derved and long-denied luster. So what if a few families are displaced and the tranquility of a few bourgeouis townhouse owners is shattered. Sacrifice the few for the Greater Good.
900K? maybe in 2001, but no way it sells for less than than $1.5 (500K per floor) + some premium for the “stand up attic”. Unless its north of Dean, AY will not be that much of a factor
IMO, traffic has not changed on Carlton in the last 5 years. It may be residential and pretty, but it’s also a through-street for many cars — one of the best ways to get from Flatbush through Atlantic and into Fort Greene. Granted there is limited information and no pics of bathrooms, etc, but this house seems priced about right to me.
Over the lat 10 years traffic has gotten worse. AY will only make matters worse. My proof??? My commute takes longer than it used to.
Good luck. I bet it goes for $900K, if it sells at all.
I live near Carlton and don’t see a bit of difference in the traffic flow. What proof do you have that “traffic is already getting heavier”?
