In recent days, DOT has been implementing its much-discussed plan to make Flushing Avenue along the Navy Yard more friendly to bicyclists. Although the original plan that called for making Flushing a one-way street was shot down, a modified plan that calls for a single two-way bike lane east of Washington and two separate one-way bike lanes west of Washington won widespread support. When we cycled past yesterday morning, the permanent lines were painted as far west as about North Oxford Street.

  1. Ahhhh. I like Jolie. I had brunch there with the Pasty Brit a few months back.

Ty, will you please email me your new email address so I can give you a heads up when we go to Sycamore in August??? I mean, really, it’s the least you can do since I wired all that money to you in London.

  2. Also regularly see cyclists going down the west (i.e. non bike lane) side of PPW, when there’s a separated two bike land on the other side of the street.
Usually they’re running lights – almost got knocked over by one the weekend before last.
