This is not your everyday rental listing. This four-bedroom at 379 2nd Street in Park Slope has a mix of more modern looking renovations and pre-war details, but there aren’t enough pictures to get a real feel of the place. (We do love that piano, however! Too bad it’s not coming with the place.) Anyway, the renovation feels a little soulless but everything appears to be in good shape. It’s also kinda weird that there’s only one and a half bathrooms in the entire house. Speak of the entire house, it’ll run you $7,900 a month. Whaddya think?

  1. Friends rent a nearly identical brownstone in prime Prospect Heights for exactly a third of this. I knew that place was below market, but not that far below. But I guess places like this don’t come up often.

  2. how the hell do you price a rental like this???

it’s not like there are good comps or a database to use.

why not ask 10K or 5K?

but agree here w BHO, this seems like a first of bad option for brownstone dreamer (or flipper) turned nightmare. second step is the short sell.

  3. My thoughts:
    – if it’s in park slope, it’s Second Street, not second Place
    – prime PS, and there are few 3/4 bedroom homes
    – looking at the market, they are trying to charge Cobble Hill/Brooklyn Heights pricing.
Who knows? there’s so little available, and the demand at that price point is so light, they need a little bit of luck.

  4. 7,900 American dollars to rent a little house so far from the Park seems steep to me, but things are nuts today. I guess a lot of people looking to move to Brooklyn have family money.
