1:58 is a complete broker.
And the $1500 apartment for a single person exists – just not a 3 bedroom. I have a $1500 on Columbia Street, and it’s reno’d and stabilized too. I think $2500 is market rate for that area actually. The rentals I think are crazy are the ones that are $3000+ for a 1 bedroom on Montague Street. Bleh.
Nice feature!
I liked the addition of the rentals until I read 1:58’s comments (who thought you should only advertise agent listings), and now I LOVE the addition. If anything, I would say don’t give any free advertising away to agents.
LOVE the rental listings!!
Rental listings are cool! Like ’em.
1:58PM, writtn by a TRUE BROKER!
How pathetic! Don’t like the NO FEE competition, then lower your freak’n FEES!! >;-(
Um to the posted worried about posting rental listings online making “things harder” these places are all on craigslist, which is not exactly an industry secret.
I was super interested in the bed-Stuy listing, but it looks to be very far from a subway. Oh well.
Mr. B —
While I like the idea of rentals in theory, it does make it a lot harder for people trying to find that great no-broker deal…presumably these people are already looking for them, and putting them up on here makes things harder. (I don’t think the same thing is true about open houses, b/c they are advertised everywhere.)
I think posting rentals that agencies have is fine, but these no-fee places should be for people willing to do the legwork, IMHO.
Make that:
Thanking God daily that AllIWant isn’t living upstairs – priceless
I like the addition of rentals. It adds another layer to the discussion of what’s happening in these nabes.
As for the Bed-Stuy hater, face down your fear! Even if you who you are somehow has less value in a world where homes in the hood cost a nearly a million dollars and MANY, MANY, MANY of its old and new residents have six figure incomes, you’ll still be you.
Take heart. That must be worth…something.
