If light and views aren’t your priority, this two-bedroom, two-bath co-op at 20 Plaza Street could be up your alley. Because of the aforementioned shortcoming, you get quite a bang for your buck on the inside: A 1,300-square-foot prewar apartment right off Prospect Park for $719,000. Attractive deal?

  1. “Come on, Europe, quit being socialists & just put in big-boy doors already.” (jennitrixie)

Ahh, that made me laugh. Even though I guess it makes no sense. Doesn’t matter. Still funny.

If the rooms are good sized, why don’t they put the dimensions on the floor plan?

  2. I also saw this place close to a year ago. It is two apartments combined, which is why the layout is odd and the maintenance is so high. The asking price is totally unrealistic — most people looking in this range have kids, but the apartment would not work well for a family.

  3. Went to this open house a while back, been on market a long time, owner started way to high and it just sat.

It was an impressive size space…master bedroom is huge, with a great bathroom (not shown). The killer for us was the maintenance, the kitchen setup (no window/vent, stare right at the wall), and as already mentioned insanely dark even with all the lights on. They did a flash/photoshop number on those photos.

  4. I was so confused the first time I encountered a shower half-door. Is there a special mat I should put down? Do I need to stand in a certain area of the stall to keep from splashing the bathroom? Er, apparently, no, the floor just gets wet and it’s supposed to drain & not be slippery. Come on, Europe, quit being socialists & just put in big-boy doors already.

  5. And no square footage in the listing.

That shower only has half a door? That’s European? How about just no door then? I don’t get it.

Looks like a very pretty place. Suspect the photos had a lot of lighting help, though.

  6. Off the bat, seems just a little high; I’d have to know what the maintenance costs are (site says $137,255!!) and take a look at a floorplan to really write this with any conviction.

On further thought, it’s too high, but not by much. No outdoor space although you can hit Prospect Park w/ a stone (at least I could, former centerfielder)… comps will show you better prices, I believe.

It’s a nice place though, well done except for that 1/2 shower door.. these Euro-style glass half-enclosures are only good for completely soaking the entire bathroom in water while one showers.
