On the other hand, some of the numbers might be working against it: Monthly maintenance of $799 (for a 400-square-foot apartment) and an asking price of $375,000. A little too rich for our blood, even if it is “Paris in New York,” as the listing claims.

delepp, this was originally two brownstones that were converted to multiple dwellings. When the stoops were removed the developer decided to do something special with the facade and he certainly did. The original redo from the ’20’s was stunning as you can see in that link.
Why the major hate on the kitchen? It’s a small studio! They should put in Viking and Granite? You people are snobs. That said—it’s still ridiculously overpriced.
Question: According to article the facade/carvings are not original to the building, can the LPC force replacement?
Very amazing and very expensive.
I wasn’t kidding when I said 100k — or double — or triple.
BHB had a great article (quoting heavily from the Brooklyn Eagle) on the 2007 discovery of the facade:

The 1920s pic is amazing!
The facade is indeed gorgeous which is why I think they’ll be forced to restore at great expense. I’m sure they wish they never saw those little angels..

Doors do not slam in BH, BoD…they gently and silently glide shut.
i know i’m really pulling at strings here, but it appears this apartment is directly above the building front door(s). That would be a huge deal breaker for me. As you’d have to listen to doors slamming all day, deliveries..etc.
