Maybe the photography is making the place look better than it is, but it feels spacious and light in a way that railroad-style layouts often don’t. The kitchen is also tastefully done. The asking price is $549,000 (down from $585,000 last summer) and the maintenance is a quite manageable $500.

With that layout, I’m think an anaconda is a better pet choice.
I skimmed those comments, thought it was some off-topic banter.
It’s 12 feet wide in the living room and bedroom, 7 or 8 feet wide elsewhere. I suspect those pictures are very artfully staged because that’s reaaaaally skinny.
Jester, everyone knows DIBS & I were kidding around regarding the HOTD price – ie everyone saw the 2.9M widget price.
Well, this apt. close to 70 feet long. So, it is longer than the typical brownstone floorthru by 25 to 35 feet.
i have a brownstone floorthru. don’t they all have this general floorplan to some degree?
Broke, that is the oldest “inside scoop” ever – everyone knows that.
The worst is “steps to…” something not appealing, like “Steps to the ferry to Garbage Island”.
Most over-used phrases in NY Real estate and their translation:
“Loft like” – non-traditional or bizarre configuration. Many walls without windows.
“Dripping with detail” – really needs a major renovation.
“Cute” – small
“Cozy” – small
“Jr. 1 Bed” – small; studio
“Oversized” – not small, but not big either.
“Blocks from Trader Joe’s” – is located in Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Carrol Gardens or Boreum Hill
You say loft-like, I say train-like.
