The price tag seems lofty for just part of a house, but this unit is 3,000-square-feet large (plus it has another 1,500 square feet of basement space and a small deck and full garden rights). And, obviously, the scale of historic quality of the architecture are stunning. So, do they have a shot?

I think by “whitebread” he means upper east side park avenue WASPy. Ignore. In any event, for that much I would want three real bedrooms and not on a garden level. (The 3rd bedroom is too narrow). Clearly, this is for someone older, with no young kids, who entertains alot. And does so in Brooklyn. But even for that, i would rather want views and more outdoor space.
gog62 – whitebread is clearly associated with white middle class america. why argue that word when you’ve used ‘cracker’ before?! hahahaaa.
it was clear that gog62 meant run-of-the-mill. no need to get the attorney genral involved, though. anyway, back to this apt. i like a cozy bedroom too but i think what you might have down there are 3 unlit chrysalises, thus no photography. the public rooms are swank, though….
daveinbedstuy, “whitebread” would be like a “white shoe” law firm. uptight, boring without style, same old thing. has nothing to do with race, like “blackmail”.
hardly racist goldie, like eric holder i speak the truth which you obviously can’t handle. you are a coward and by the way, i don’t live in a hole, rather a gorgeous brownstone. what do you live in a rental? perhaps racist in your opinion, but you probably voted for john mccain, or maybe you are from lousiana and support david duke? hmmm….
girlongrand62…please explain “whitebread apartment”
girlongrand/tiptoe, crawl back in your hole. they’re my opinions. you lost credibility after your racist tirades and co-op threads.
yeah, so as i said, lovely house.
I think the garden level is very nice for sleeping, especially. It’s cozy.
Obviously not everyone agrees, but I like my sleeping space to feel like a nest. I think the set up with the living space on top and sleeping on bottom is quite nice. My great aunt has a multi-million dollar home on a hill overlooking the Pacific in Laguna Beach, California which is set up just like this (bedrooms below the living spaces) and I’ve always loved it.
If you look at the exterior photo, the garden level is at grade or maybe slightly below, which makes for decent living space. Plus that bay window is going to give some nice light.
