134-St-Marks-Interior-1008.jpgThis Scarano-designed development at 134 St. Marks Place in Park Slope has had tough road. In August 2007, the seven-unit building was slated to come on the market with The Developers Group; that fall Corcoran ended up bringing it to market, before the listings were yanked last spring. Now they’ve popped up again with Brown Harris Stevens. To date, just two of the units have gone into contract. The remaining five range from a 683-square-foot one-bedroom asking $495,000 to $849,000 for a 1,352-square-foot two-bedroom. Have any readers been inside the building?

  1. Glad to hear that everyone likes the area as much as I do. I walk by this building every day but haven’t seen a worker in there or any other activity for months.

It’s certainly not the best design and kind of sticks out on the block, but it could be worse. Will be curious to see how it fares in this market.

  2. i have friends that live on this block and have walked by this place for the last year or so and area around it is always a mess. Great area tho.

  3. This place looked like it was “almost done” when I was looking at an apt. rental down the block from it last year. I’ve been wondering what was taking them so long…

Not sure if they’ll get their price, but the location is nice. I’m a fan of the restaurant next door Peperoncino.

Maybe if they have an open house some weekend when I have some time I’ll stop by for a peak…

  4. This part of Park Slope is terrific. The area of 5th around here is the best, in my opinion. Don’t know anything about the inside, but they did just plant a couple nice sized trees out front, which improves the curb appeal a bit.

  5. i’ve been in the 1,352-square-foot two-bedroom in August. We actually submitted a bid for the unit and were approved, but we backed out before putting down a deposit after we had an inspector check the place out. He noted crappy construction work that would require a redo of the apartment. we didn’t want the headache for “new” construction. They’re using really good materials inside, but crappy workers.
