Condos of the Day: Price Cuts, No Love for 45 3rd Place
The developer of the 45 3rd Place (aka the Carroll Gardens atrocity) has finally cried “Uncle!” After 16 months on the market with no reduction in price, the two units in the mangled converted townhouse finally received small price reductions (around 3%) at the end of last week. The developer of the 45 3rd Place (aka the Carroll Gardens atrocity) has finally cried “Uncle!” After 16 months on the market with no reduction in price, the two units in the mangled converted townhouse finally received small price reductions (around 3%) at the end of last week. (Notice how the current listings do not include a single photo of the offending addition.) We wonder whether they’ve fixed any of the red flags spotted by blogger Pardon Me For Asking at an open house earlier this year. What do you think these will ultimately sell for (if they ever do)?

Actually 2:06 – My father was a professional renovator of old buildings – beautiful rehabilitations of old brick buildings in Manhattan. The most well known being the Piano Factory on 46th and 10th.
And no, they didn’t destroy the old lines – they left them and built around them. They could have torn off the roof and just built up and out with the same brick but they chose to leave the architecture intact. I don’t think it’s gorgeous, but in my opinion it could be much much worse. And places like the “crest” or “novo” are a gazillion times more hideous.
Biff just continues to confirm what a douche he is. Things must also be so busy on “Wall Street” that he has free time to post idiotic comments on a blog. Douche.
These will sell somewhere a little lower but will sell
wall street types also say things like ‘that’s what she said’
2:01 guest, absolutely. And it’s “you’re an asshole”. I was waiting for that; just surprised it took that long to come (that’s what she said).
cgguy, I was just busting chops – something Wall Street assholes love to do. Based on your descriptions, your instincts about him are probably right.
These will fetch min of 1.2 mill each i think, in one of the nicest blocks in brooklyn. I think !
1:18, what are you talking about? They did destroy all he beautiful lines of this building. They mangled it, chewed it and spit it out. Do you really think I am saying it is an atorcity simply because Stoner says so? No my friend. this is a bona-fida atrocity and if that fact is not obvious to you, you should please stay away from remodeling old buildings in ANY WAY.
So essentially Biff – by the definition you agree with – your an asshole?
It was something like mid-morning, and he, prob. 35-40, was wearing a suit and tie, carrying small briefcase, believe he took a car service back. I seem to recall the conservatively dressed wife went back with the broker, but am not certain. I said “Wall Street.” Perhaps I should just have said, “professional.” Most people dress casually today. Dressing in a suit and tie sort of marks certain occupations: securities firm employees (bankers, traders), lawyers, certain doctors. After that, while some people may wear suits, it isn’t required.
