This attractive Sunset Park one-bedroom, while compact, has appealing original features, a nicely updated minimalist kitchen, and appears to be in move-in condition.

It’s on the third floor of 531 41st Street, a 40-unit, four-story co-op across from Sunset Park and just outside the neighborhood’s historic districts. Dubbed “Park Slope Homes” despite its location, the name over the building’s entrance shows, the onetime Finnish co-op was built in 1927 by Sun Heights Building Corp.

Designed by E. O. Holgrem, the pale yellow brick building is modern and angular inside and out, perhaps reflecting the influences of Cubism and modernism.

The three-room layout includes bedroom, kitchen, and a combo living-dining room. There are high coved ceilings, parquet with inlaid borders, picture railings, picture-frame moldings, and French doors throughout.

The kitchen, updated in 2016, according to the listing, has plenty of simple white flat-front cupboards, stone counters, and a tile floor. There is a dishwasher, and the under-window cooler is still in place.

In the bathroom is a deep tile-in tub and square wall tile with black diamond border. The bedroom has a closet and, in the entry, there is both a coat closet and overhead storage, according to the listing.

In addition, a deeded storage unit is located in the basement of the building, where there is also shared laundry and bicycle storage. A courtyard has chairs and tables and greenery in containers.

The monthly maintenance is a reasonable $535, and there is a temporary assessment of $900 a year to help add solar panels to the self managed building.
