Closing Bell: Bicycle Rental on the GAP
A tipster recently sent in a photo of bicycle rentals at Grand Army Plaza, just across the street from On Prospect Park. It looked new to them and it definitely looks new to us. Anyone have the scoop on how long this setup has been around? Photo by Brooklyn Basics

rent a helmet? Yuck! Hello Lice!
If it’s like the Central Park one… they’ll have a bucket o’ helmets.
Rob – You should. And if you bike down to Manhattan Beach on Bedford Avenue (beautiful bike lane the whole way), you can get some yummy food at Roll ‘n Roaster!

It’s EXACTLY the same!
Will they rent helmets too?
Woops….sorry!!
Hey 11217,
You’re one step ahead of us. Look for that post tomorrow!

this new dude renting crappy bikes may just be the catalyst to biking chaos!
haha. i’d rent one to try it out. i dont own a bike anymore because i always thought they were too bulky and look trashy inside of an apartment unless you have somewhere to hide it from view. i think bike rentals are a good idea for someone who might just want to bike for one afternoon.
*rob*
Nice idea, but safe for the unintiated bicyclist? I ride around the park on the weekends, but do it early, by afternoon there are lots of people and children who cross the bike lanes in a langorous manner. Stopping short on the hills to avoid creaming an entire family is always tricky.

11217, just curious what resource is this from?
