benson but your old stomping grounds are pretty decent for both of those considerations. Why not get something there or at least towards midwood/bensonhurst? I totally understand your reasons for opting for condo/apt. over house though.
Kens;
Two considerations:
-my wife doesn’t drive, so I have to live in a walkable area.
-I work in White Plains.
Believe me, if it were up to me, I’d be thinking long and hard on this issue.
benson, yet you chose Park Slope over Marine Park. hmmmmm.
benson, you cant compare a 400k ppty with a 165k one. many might be able to afford 165k but 400k is not. if same price, you definitely correct. but 230k diff and due to affordability, marine park might be best alternative to folks with skinny income
I’m not so impressed with the Marine Park apartment.
I’d much rather live on the 4th floor of a “historical” $400K walk-up in Park Slope that has a railroad layout, has overflowing trash cans out front and one toilet.
Despite the lack of amentities and comfort, I would be happy knowing that my building might be written up on Brownstoner.
Hah hah
Thanks Benson.
Joe;
