Brooklyn Real Estate Listings Six Months Later: All Four Sold

This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Sunset Park, Park Slope, and Prospect Heights. How did they fare?

On the third floor of a Sunset Park walk-up, this apartment has a flexible floor plan along with a renovation that kept some period details and added a bit of rustic style. It is in a four-story Finnish co-op at 4113 7th Avenue, located across from the neighborhood’s eponymous park. The efficient unit includes a small foyer with a closet and a second bedroom that could also work as a living room or dining room. This former Co-op of the Day sold in January for the asking price of $537,500.

Packed with details, this 1890s Sunset Park brownstone appears surprisingly intact, with multiple mantels, fretwork, moldings, and built-ins. A kitchen renovation took a cue from the period style, with cabinetry mimicking original built-ins and the inclusion of a vintage stove. The two-family at 465 54th Street sits in the Sunset Park South Historic District. This former House of the Day sold this month for $1.585 million, which was $110,000 under the asking price.

In Park Slope close to Prospect Park, a narrow brownstone outside the historic district has notable Neo-Grec features such as stone mantels with faux-painted marble and incised details, eclectic woodwork with strappy motifs, and plasterwork including angular ceiling medallions. This former Open House Pick sold in February for $2.6 million, which was $150,000 under the asking price.

In the Prospect Heights Historic District, this 1890s brownstone has many of the expected details of the era still in place along with room for a new owner to make a few modern tweaks. A short walk from Grand Army Plaza, 290 Park Place has been in the same family since the 1970s and, from mantels to moldings, its period elements seem to be in pristine condition. The legal two-family is set up with a triplex over a one-bedroom garden rental. This former House of the Day sold in February for $4.025 million, which was $30,000 over the asking price.
