This week, our look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Cypress Hills, Midwood, Flatbush and Crown Heights. How did they fare?

Starting us off, with a sunken living room and arched openings, is a two-bedroom in Midwood that has a bit of 20th century style along with a practical, spacious layout and an abundance of closets. On the second floor, above the main building entrance, this unit still has its original layout. The foyer stretches almost the full width of the apartment and includes two closets and arched openings leading to the other rooms. A small hallway off the foyer leads to the two bedrooms and the full bath. The larger of the two bedrooms has two exposures and two closets plus a door leading into the walk-in closet off the foyer. Indoor parking is available for an additional fee and there is a short waitlist for storage. Maintenance for this unit is $1,005 a month. A former Co-op of the Day, it sold in August for the asking price of $495,000.

Next up this week is a modest single-family that offers up some early 20th century details along with a location just a short walk from Highland Park in Cypress Hills. There aren’t any floor plans with the listing but there is a 3D tour that provides a look through the entire house. The house has a living room, dining and kitchen on the first floor and four bedrooms and a full bath above. An additional full bath and laundry room are located in the basement. An enclosed, paved rear yard is separated by a low brick wall and a pergola. A former House of the Day, it sold in August for $695,000, which was $25,000 below the asking price.

In Flatbush’s Fiske Terrace-Midwood Park Historic District, an early 20th century single-family has plenty of curb appeal with a bright red door, a windowed porch and a front gable ornamented with shingles and half-timbering. The house has had a few changes since it was first constructed circa 1912 but retains most of its exterior details and a fair number of original features on the interior as well, including parquet floors, moldings and an original stair. There’s a brick Arts and Crafts-style wood-burning fireplace in the living room along with a window seat, windows on three exposures and dentil crown molding that is more Colonial Revival in style. Upstairs are three bedrooms with parquet floors and picture rails. The full bath has a stained glass window and white fixtures with white subway tile on the walls. One more flight up are two more bedrooms set into the angled-ceiling rooms of the attic. A wood deck is accessible via the kitchen and there is a bit of lawn in the back as well as along the side of the house. In front, a curb cut and a paved area leading to the front door provide parking. Located next to a sunken subway track, this former House of the Day sold in August for $1.65 million, which was $155,000 above the asking price.

Wrapping up this week, we have this striking Queen Anne in Crown Heights that has an impressive exterior, nice original details and a slightly awkward layout. Located on Dean Street in the Crown Heights North Historic District, the two-family has wood floors, pocket doors, a pier mirror, stained glass and mantels. It was constructed as a single-family, a 1997 certificate of occupancy has it as a two-family, and the floor plans shows it’s currently set up as a three-family — which explains the somewhat chopped up layout. On the parlor floor, the rear has been divided up to create a bedroom and a den with access to a kitchen in the rear extension. None of the three kitchens are shown in the listing photos; presumably, they might need some work. For those with a green thumb, there are some planting beds behind the wrought iron fence at the front while the enclosed rear yard is a bit more of a blank slate — it is concrete. A former House of the Day, it did not sell and is currently off the market.
