Another week, another look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago, focusing on homes in Midwood, Bed Stuy, Clinton Hill and Carroll Gardens. How did they fare?

Starting off, an early 20th century home in Midwood whose striking facade puts us in mind of a gingerbread cottage. If there was any doubt whether the fanciful brick work at 2022 East 27th Street was original or the whim of an “artistic” homeowner, the pattern is repeated two doors down. This former House of the Day is still available at a new price of $1.688 million, a price cut of $100,000.

Next, it’s not too often houses like this one come along. Replete with magnificent historic details, this 1886 Neo-Grec brownstone in Bed Stuy at 195 Hancock Street was designed by well-known architect Isaac Delamater Reynolds. This former House of the Day entered contract in February.

In Clinton Hill is a slightly narrow Anglo-Italianate brownstone with a low stoop, center staircase with a handsome curving bannister, and other curved features, especially on the lintels and cornice. This former Open House Pick sold in March for $1.525 million, which was $270,000 under ask.

Finally, an unusual Carroll Gardens townhouse built from the guts of a garage has an exterior that is reminiscent of a converted early 20th century factory or garage with its tapestry brick and multi-paned windows, disguising how extensively a new envelope was constructed. This former House of the Day is still available at a new price of $8,999,500, a price cut of $995,500.
