Brooklyn Real Estate Six Months Later: Two Sold, Two Off the Market
A look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago, including homes in Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights.
Once again, we’re going back and taking a look at four of our featured listings from six months ago. This week, we have homes in Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, Brooklyn Heights and Park Slope.
First, near the Crown Heights border in Clinton Hill, there’s a bay-fronted Neo-Grec at 112 Lefferts Place that underwent what seems to be a full gut since we profiled the home back in 2008, when it was in need of work and asking $985,000. This former House of the Day did not sell and is currently off the market.
Then there’s a rambling Park Avenue-style co-op that might not be a bad spot for a game of hide-and-go-seek, considering its plentiful nooks and crannies, including seven closets. Located at 41 Eastern Parkway in Prospect Heights, in a building referred to in early ads as “The Aristocrat of Apartment Dwellings,” it has views from its living room and two of its three bedrooms of Mount Prospect Park, that leafy stretch of green on which sit the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Public Library and Brooklyn Botanic Garden. This former Co-op of the Day did not sell and is currently off the market.
Then we have an elegant Greek Revival with classic features and a stunning glassy rear extension. Built in the 1840s, the house is located at 15 Garden Place in the Brooklyn Heights Historic District. This former House of the Day sold in October for $8.1 million, which was $400,000 below the asking price.
Last up, in Park Slope, a narrow Neo-Grec brownstone with two units over three stories. There are glass-paneled wood doors in the entry, pocket doors, five decorative mantels, wooden shutters and built-ins. It’s set up as a rental apartment over an owner’s duplex. This former Open House Pick sold in October for $2.4 million, which was $99,000 less than the asking price.
