Here’s a no-fee Crown Heights four-bedroom that’s newly renovated, has nice parquet floors throughout, and would run four roommates well under a grand apiece. It’s on the second floor of a three story building at 944 Nostrand Avenue, between Crown and Montgomery.

There’s no floor plan, so the layout is hard to suss out, but all the bedrooms pictured look to be of adequate size, with a decent sized living room. What surprises might await beyond the camera’s view — windowless spaces, postage-stamp-sized fourth bedrooms — we couldn’t tell you, but everything looks fine as pictured.

The “chef’s kitchen” — an accurate enough term in the sense that a chef could prepare a meal in it — is low on cabinet and especially counter space, but it has a window and new appliances including a dishwasher.

There’s a laundry hookup, which is obviously less ideal than having actual laundry machines, especially for renters, but if you want to pony up for machines you can put them to use.

There’s only one bathroom. And with a second-floor berth overlooking Nostrand Avenue there’s going to be some street noise — and maybe the occasional scream from the dentist’s office on the ground floor. But that probably won’t bug four youthful roommates too much — and the 2 and 5 trains are close at hand.
