This Fort Greene duplex is gracious and attractive, and located on a nice block in the Fort Greene Historic District, a stone’s throw from Fort Greene park. It’s on the second and third floors of a circa 1865 Italianate brownstone at 214 Carlton Avenue, between Dekalb and Willoughby.

The floors are bridged by a circular staircase rising from the living room — not an original 1865 feature and not everyone’s cup of tea.

The listing calls it a three-bedroom, though it should be noted that the third bedroom is off the master bedroom, and it’s likely small. (It’s not pictured.) So it’s probably best used as a nursery or an office.
