We can’t quite pinpoint why, but for some reason these Ben & Jerry’s ads that have been popping up all over town hold a certain appeal for us…

  1. THL, anyone who markets ice cream under the name “Phish Food” has no reason to expect the product will be successful. Why WOULDN’T people think it tasted like fish and was the exact color of fish? That’s like naming something crap and then saying, “Well, it doesn’t really TASTE like crap….”

No one has adequately explained why Brooklyn – and the ice cream – are upside down on the ad.

  2. If it sells more ice cream, it’s successful. If everyone talks about it, but it doesn’t sell any more ice cream, it’s unsuccessful.

  3. It’s just a fun play on words. Don’t take everything so literally.

Do you think Phish food tasted like fish and was the exact color of fish?

    Man, tough crowd!
