This’ll probably show up on next week’s Biggest Sales list but seemed to merit an immediate post: 371 Clinton Street, the four-story, 15-foot wide Cobble Hill house that hit the market on March 2 and was featured as a House of the Day shortly thereafter, went into contract within three weeks and closed last week for its asking price of $2,695,000. Pretty impressive!

  1. “I know a lot of kids who went from private to public at high school level. I’ve heard that Packer, for instance, has some turnover at that level.”

rf, I have friends whose son did just that.

  2. “m4l – you can teach the English class.”

Ditto, you want me to single handedly tank this city’s talented youths’ language skills?!! unless you meant a “how NOT to – in English” class

  3. There is some turnover in private schools at the high school level–I know a lot of kids who went from private to public at high school level. I’ve heard that Packer, for instance, has some turnover at that level. Not so much for middle school.

  4. Wrong about middle schools, teamslap. Most middle schools are zoned by district.

District 15 (Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Park Slope south of Union St., Sunset Park) has some decent middle schools. District 13 (Brooklyn Heights, Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, western Bed-Stuy, Park Slope north of Union St.), much less so.

Also, it is not always easy to get a kid into a really good private school.
