349 Metropolitan is now boasting a new facade (after its previous one of Jerusalem Gold Stone was removed) and just hit the rental market, although these units were initially intended for condos. Aptsandlofts.com is listing a 425-square-foot studio for $1,695, a 915-square-foot two bedroom for $3,025 and three-bedroom unit for $4,325, according to StreetEasy. (Some of the units also just popped up on the Brownstoner Marketplace.)

  1. It looks much better, but still kind of a random mish-mash of materials (brick and wood facade, grey paint, lobby still awful gold marble). These apartments are just so ugly! You can look out on noisy, dirty Metropolitan ( where I would NEVER open my windows) or onto each others weird tiny balconies over the “courtyard”. Nice bathrooms, TINY living rooms, OK bedrooms.

  2. The new facade is much better than that crap Jerusalem stone (and presumably attached with something more than Elmer’s glue that was used to hang the stone). The building is still ugly as sin, just a tiny bit less so.
