The building has a mix of studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms along with the requisite mix of “luxury” amenities like an iPod-wired lounge, a rooftop terrace and a fitness center; 71 lucky people will also be able to rent a parking space in the building. The website doesn’t have prices listed yet but from what we understand studios will start at $1,750, one-bedrooms at $2,400 and two-bedrooms at $3,820.

Dirty Hipster, you can buy a whole house in Bed Stuy in move-in condition in the relatively good area near Saraghina and the Utica A express stop for $540,000 with a small rental for 3.5 percent down, aka $16,000 if my math is correct.
Of course, it’s not next to Barcade. Or many single people. So, you know, tradeoffs and all.

Puff puff give. Good shit.

I would rather have a cheaoper rent, formika instead of granite. Amana instead of sub-zero, I don’t need a dishwasher. My regular tile bathroom is fine, I can get just as clean in a ceramic tile bathroom than a granite bathroom.
I don’t need bamboo floors, regular hardwood is sufficient.
besides if I was to get all of that, I want to pick out the granite, floors, appliances, tiles, not what someone else picks out for me.
Thank you very much.

That would save you about $200 a month around here – which would be offset by the free gym and the ability to do your laundry for free in your own apartment.

Grand Pa, I don’t know… I think we are seeing the glut NOW. In downtown Brooklyn, all over. I have been a little concerned to what they will do to the rental market — i.e. MY tenants. I thought that they would be having a lot of choices but with the prices they are asking — they are off the wall!!!
Wall Street doesn’t hire Cornell grads.
Rents always seem crazy to people who are out of the rental market. Things change. I think we will eventually see a glut of Brooklyn luxury units as more condos convert, but the building owners need high rents to cover their own mortgages. This area competes with the likes of Murray Hill in Manhattan. Brand new luxury building for recent Cornell grads with their first Wall Street job and help from the parents. Its nearly impossible to get these amenities at these prices on the other side of the river.
What this means is that the frat boys will finally conquer Bedford.
“Laugh. That area sucks balls. Hate on PS all you want, but you can have a 1 bed for that amount plus great subway access and amenities…though you will lose your hipster cred.”
Park Slope sucks balls – it’s boring as hell. The one bedrooms for that amount are old and smell like elderly people. No thanks.
