The building has a mix of studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms along with the requisite mix of “luxury” amenities like an iPod-wired lounge, a rooftop terrace and a fitness center; 71 lucky people will also be able to rent a parking space in the building. The website doesn’t have prices listed yet but from what we understand studios will start at $1,750, one-bedrooms at $2,400 and two-bedrooms at $3,820.

SORRY, Wine Lover, it is high for a 1 bedroom, and your right they do pay it, and we can thank people like that for paying it, that the rents keep staying so high.
And if I worked a 15 hour day, I wouldn’t give a rats arse what the apartment looked like, I be so damn tired I would probably just go to bed.
So No, I do not agree with any of your logic, at all.
2400 is not insane for a nice new one bed. single people with jobs pay this and way higher all the time. i know several people in WB renting at that price or really, more, with busy busy careers who are not interested in some ramschackle apt after working 15 hour days and have zero interest in brownstone brooklyn. and, no way they are giving up access to going out and meeting people (they are single!) to live buried miles away deep in brooklyn because the financials make sense. sex first. financials come after marriage.
do agree with hipster that couples rent these as well, but also know many renting 2 bedrms even without kids. some folks do work rob!
bjw – have you played at brooklyn bowl? is it strange that the pins are on strings or do you not really notice?
“It’s walking distance to a bowling alley.”
Correction: it’s walking distance to two bowling alleys. Which is amazing, when you think about it.

You are kidding, right?
im not kidding. but then again maybe these people are totally off my radar as im more of a house party type of person than a going out to bars type person. also i dont set foot in coffee shops.
*rob*
apparently it’s opposite day, and williamsburg is filled with ivy league wall st fratboys and park slope isn’t
mopar – some day hopefully. not sure if i’ll be here forever.
For the next few years, Wall St isn’t hiring ANY grads.
Yeah, rents will fall more and more as inventory rises. BK Gold and Avalon (crackling wood floors) don’t appear to be doing too well. However, Ratner’s Dekalb looks pretty good in lights-on analyses (“bad” ass finishes and Swedish washer/driers, what!).
Not for long, mopar.

mopar, you been to Therapy yet?? The bar, not psychoanalysis. I was there for the first time a week or two ago and actually impressed.
dh, it’s a half block away from Saraghina.
