This week, Sunnyside Shines will host a public meeting to discuss design and programming possibilities for the Lowery and Bliss Plazas. In April, Sunnyside Shines announced that the city approved these two public plaza for 40th Street and Queens Boulevard and 46th Street and Queens Boulevard, under the elevated 7. The spaces will be outfitted with planters, benches and moveable tables and chairs; Sunnyside Shines will be in charge of programing events and activities.

The meeting will be an opportunity for Sunnyside residents to discuss traffic concerns, ways to create safer streets, design preferences and ideas for public programming. The event starts this Wednesday, 6:30 pm, at 43-13 39th Street in Sunnyside. You can read all the event details here and keep up with the plaza progress at the Lowery and Bliss Plazas Facebook page.
