The Drip Man Cometh
Blog Ni9e identifies his favorite tag on the streets right now. Rumored to be the work of someone named KR, the drips are proliferating around the city, including this newspaper dispenser in Williamsburg and this mailbox. Drips… [Blog Ni9e via Kottke]

Brownstoner, what if this guy drip tagged your iron railing or car?
harmless
We didn’t realize this would generate so many comments. Interesting.
B-stoner, thanks for covering this. I think street art adds character to our ‘hoods, especially when it utilizes public property such as mailboxes, etc. If I wanted to live in a wholly sanitized environment, I’d move to a gated community upstate. A little harmless visual stimulation never hurt anyone…
Yea, this sucks. It’s vandalism, not art.
While using the paint to create a textural pattern maybe more creative than the regular crappy tagging, I’m not feeling the love for any of these types of artistic expression. As someone who recently who recently had their house tagged, I wouldn’t mind seeing this “artist” beaten with his paint can and covered with his own dripping paint.

I dunno … I think they’re kinda pretty. Very artful.
I hope the vandal gets sentenced to community service to remove grafitti.
