The Drip Man Cometh
Blog Ni9e identifies his favorite tag on the streets right now. Rumored to be the work of someone named KR, the drips are proliferating around the city, including this newspaper dispenser in Williamsburg and this mailbox. Drips… [Blog Ni9e via Kottke]
hey jerkbags:
what is vandalism? the “destruction of public property?” do you wanna press vandalism charges on the armies of the world for all their past crimes?? shit.
these drips aint exactly the most SKILLED artworks around, but its certainly more then most have done in this world to act as a part of it; not just a bystander, this dude is making people like you idiots think. and whether you think HE is an artist or a “vandal,” he has certainly made you think. …something im guessing you guys dont do often.
and FUK the USPS.
Why don’t the graffitti artists just mark up all the handball courts in the city? It could be like a rotating art exhibit (ala Keith Haring)…too bad they can’t organize themselves. But I guess if you take out the illegal part of it, it isn’t as thrilling.
Why do they only tag “public” property like mailboxes? Why are private cars relatively sacrosanct? I should think they’d like to see their tags driving around in the streets.
Grafitti is for losers.
Defacing public or private property is a crime.
The scum should be shot and his corpse hung from the nearest stoplight.
KR is a great, young graffiti artist. He has shown at Deitch Projects and alife. RELAX people!
THE NYPD IS OFFERING A REWARD UP TO $500 FOR THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF ANYONE WHO COMMITS GRAFFITI VANDALISM. CALL 911 FOR CRIMES IN PROGRESS. CALL 311 TO PROVIDE INFORMATION.
You could buy a whole lot of cum drenched porn rags on 2nd Ave in the good old days with $500, right anon.
If he’s caught everyone in Brooklyn should be allowed one punch to the jerk’s face. Afterwards, a picture of his face should be posted on this website so we can debate whether his new face is art or not. In the old days, a lot of Brookynites had faces like that . . . oh the good old days . . . what a load of crap!
Actually, it has EVERYTHING to do with this…you “dork”. And do you really hold a newspaper box or mailbox in the same regard as your apartment? My point, for those of you who seem to have missed it by a country mile, is that NYC used to be a chaotic whirlwind of self-expresion – it was gleefully ungovernable. This was before selling trash-picked magazines on a blanket on second ave at midnight was a “quality of life crime” Maybe you’re too new to the city to remember these days, but I assure you that they were exciting times. And as for Brookyn being “Mom and Pop”: tell it to Ratner, brother. Look, I shop at Target, too. But let’s not kid ourselves – at this rate Mom and Pops are closing up or suffering ( hi Ikea, Home Depot, Target, etc).
Anyhow, if my home was as inconsequential as a newspaper box and your graf was as artful as the example that started this thread I’d have to say “be my guest….you dork”
Brkln still is Mom and Pops you dork. Graffiti is vandalism. Let me come over and spray paint your apartment you twit, then you can admire my art.
