breaksHM_V.jpgSomehow we missed this major retail news from Tuesday: H&M “has officially signed a 15-year lease at property owner Al Laboz’s 497 Fulton Street building on the Fulton Street Mall. The 29,600-square-foot store, between Hoyt and Bridge streets, will be H&M’s first street location Brooklyn,” reports the Observer. Due to construction, it won’t open until 2010.

  1. “I think as a society we put too much emphasis on our outer image than our inner.”

I think the opposite is true. Americans are by and large obese and extremely style-less. I agree that Americans are materialistic, but there is absolutely NO reason one can’t pay attention to the outside AND inside. It’s not an either or, and paying attention to your inside is usually reflected in a nice exterior.

I’ve been to countries MUCH less affluent than the U.S and people in other places take so much more pride in their appearance than they do here.

You don’t need to like to shop, but not taking pride in your exterior is a sign that your interior is lacking as well.

  2. “We’re not hooking up…I’m pretty sure Rob is straight.”

I’ll let Rob speak for himself, although he did mention in a thread yesterday that he needs to find himself a boyfriend (in connection with a discussion on high rents).

  3. I’ll go over to the H&M in Manhattan tomorrow and check it out if its not raining.

Don’t anyone even think of driving into Manhattan today. Apparently Bush is still here and the traffic is gridlock.
