Apropos of not much at all, here’s a roundup of the five most expensive properties on the market in Mill Basin listed on Trulia. The houses, which run from $2.45 million up to $4 million, are all on the waterfront. Swimming pools appear to be prized in the neighborhood, and the decor is eclectic…

We covered this sale in a post last week. As we mentioned, the home is the recipient of the Brooklyn Heights Association’s 2006 Award for Architectural Excellence. When it was HOTD the ask was a whopping $4,200,000. Streeteasy shows a ton of price cuts, eventually down to $3,250,000, before it sold. 3. WILLIAMSBURG $1,884,000

This is a penthouse sale at the Ikon Condos in Williamsburg. We featured another penthouse unit here, #PH3 which was an appealing, single-story pad on the market for $1,700,000. But this particular duplex unit, #PH4, was on the market for $2,460,000 for 2,460 square feet of space. It was cut to $2,399,000 before selling. 204 Clermont has been HOTD three whole times, (2008, 2009 and 2010) and it has finally sold. Each time the verdict was that the house has some good bones but is still a little rough around the edges. At its highest, this was priced at $2,500,000. At its lowest it was asking $1,545,000. On Friday The Real Deal reported that the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corp had canned PA Associates, which was supposed to develop Admiral’s Row, after the firm’s founder was accused of “funneling $472,500 in bribes to State Senator Carl Kruger.” A Navy Yard spokesperson and Councilwoman Letitia James both said the project would still move forward, albeit with a different, unspecified developer. In other Kruger fallout news, The Post reported that a shopping complex in Mill Basin that Forest City Ratner is developing was held up for three years by the state senator because Kruger didn’t want the city to begin a public review on a non-FCR section of the site “and [FCR] was concerned that segmenting the project could hurt its plans, sources said.” Kruger and Bruce Bender, a vice president for government relations at FCR, “are longtime allies,” according to the article, though neither Bender or FCR were charged in the Kruger corruption suit.

When 286 Hicks was a HOTD in July 2010, we said the house was a bit narrow but there wasn’t much to quibble with. We guessed there would be lots of interest but weren’t sure if it would get close to ask… and after two price drops, it brought in a price even less than what the widget predicted. This was way back in February 2010, and although the unit sold in the same month, the sale wasn’t recorded until last week. No listing for this one-family home, right on the water. All we know is that the property spans 2,955 square foot on a 6,000 square foot lot. The house looks fairly modern from this Property Shark photo. Entered into contract on 9/1/2010; closed on 2/1/2011; deed recorded on 2/11/11.

We’ve featured a high-end rental at 330 Wythe, but haven’t checked out the condos here. The listing describes this as a “1750 sq ft loft, 2 full bath, open duplex loft with 19 ft ceilings, exposed brick walls, and private patio.” From the pictures, it looks really nice to us.
